    Joseph Haydns klavertrio nr.25 stammer fra klassicismens storhedstid og er en af hans sidste klavertrioer. Trioen er præget af improvisatorisk lethed og srudlende, virtuose tonerækker og er en af Haydns fornemste og mest charmerende klavertrioer.

    Fra 1885-1889 studerede Jean Sibelius i Helsinki Musik Akademi. Det var i denne periode, at Piano Trio i C-dur blev komponeret. Det har ingen opus nummer, men er blevet kendt som Loviisa Trio, fordi det blev komponeret på hjem af hans familievenner, nær landsbyen Loviisa.

    A. Dvořák: Klavertrio Op.90 “ Dumky trio”

    Den tjekkiske komponist Dvorak brugte folke-og dansemusik I hans klassiske music og det kan man også høre I denne pianotrio, som blevet spillet første gang i 1891. En ”Dumka” var oprindeligt en ukrainsk sang-form, som består af langsomme, melankoliske afsnit, der afløses af hurtige og lystige. Dvorak har brugt den form i alle seks satser. Idag hører vi de to første.
